How This Started

A few weeks ago I received a message from an IT director based in Nairobi who implements Odoo ERP for FMCG distributors across Kenya. Problem 1: The Warehouse Bottleneck

Before any goods can be received into Odoo ERP, warehouse staff must verify that what was delivered matches what was ordered, then manually key every line item — vendor name, SKU, quantity, unit price, total — into the system. For any manufacturer or distributor handling dozens of supplier deliveries a day, this process is slow, error-prone, and breaks down entirely when volume spikes.

2. WhatsApp Sales Orders → Odoo

For the WhatsApp sales orders Odoo workflow, sales agents now send their order photos or typed messages to a Logistify AI-connected channel instead of a manual WhatsApp group. The AI parses the order, matches products and customers against the Odoo database, and creates the sales order automatically. By the time the agent reaches the next shop, the order is already in Odoo and the warehouse can begin picking.
